Bridges of Hope, LLC is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner (Part Time) Near Anderson, IN

Bridges of Hope is looking for a part time Nurse Practitioner working part time at our inpatient residential and detox facility.
Summary:
 
This is a professional position in which the incumbent provides medical care for the patients of Bridges of Hope, LLC. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) works collaboratively with the Medical Director and nursing staff to provide patient assessment and diagnosis, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, order laboratory tests, interpret test results, provide patient education, prepare medical records, and refer patients for additional treatment as required by regulations and protocols regulating the profession. The Family Nurse Practitioner/Psych Nurse Practitioner works under the supervision of the Medical Director. 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

  • Computer literacy and ability use an EMR
  • Knowledge of “best practices” behavioral medicine treatment delivery and methodologies

  • Adherence to facility policy and procedures, State & Federal law, OSHA compliance, and Joint Commission regulations and standards
  • Prescribing controlled substances, including, but not limited to Buprenorphine, following Bridges of Hope protocols.
  • Electronic documentation and paper documentation should meet the standards of State and Federal guidelines. Documentation should be performed and completed in a timely manner, meeting all regulatory and insurance requirements.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor while representing Bridges of Hope.
  • Ability to maintain boundaries while working with clients, alumni, and their families.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information with tact and discretion beyond HIPAA
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when overseeing a variety of issues
  • Provides patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans in accordance with statutes, regulations, and protocols regulating the profession.
  • Collaborates with the Medical Director, the nursing staff, and clinical personnel at Bridges of Hope, LLC.
  • Provides medical health services, education, counseling, and emotional support.
  • Issues medication prescriptions in accordance with treatment guidelines
  • Works with facility insurance personnel as needed
  • Orders laboratory tests, interprets, and explains the test results to patients.
  • Provides patient education regarding medications, risks, benefits and reasonable outcome expectations.
  • Communicates with patients and engages in follow-up as necessary.
  • May also provide primary medical care services as indicated, in accordance with statutes, regulations, and protocols regulating the profession.
  • Provides psychiatric health services, education, counseling, and emotional support.
  • Create and maintain patient electronic medical records (EMR) provided by Bridges of Hope, LLC.
  • NP will provide services based on a schedule developed by the Medical Director and the provider.
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • NP has completed credentials from an accredited school and certified by the state
  • Experience, personal passion, or interest in substance abuse issues is strongly preferred.
  • One-year prior experience a mental health experience preferred
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable working with electronic health records (KIPU preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • High level of flexibility and diplomacy
  • Working with clients in a 12-step program preferred.
  • Commitment to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use is essential
  • Authorization to work in the US is required
  • Proof of vehicle insurance
  • Copy of driver’s license
  • BLS or CPR certification completed within 60 days of hire
  • Demonstrate empathy, understanding, and respectful behavior towards clients, client’s family members, coworkers, outpatient providers, and others while maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Utilize crisis management skills including, but not limited to, verbal de-escalation
  • Demonstrate skills of being punctual, organized, dependable, professional, and able to prioritize
  • Represent the agency within the community, coordinate with other agencies, and facilitate transfers to different levels of care
  • Utilize insurance billing knowledge to effectively charge insurance for services
  • Utilize excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with a high level of flexibility and diplomacy
  • Ability to work with others toward a shared goal, participating actively, and contributing to the capability of the team
  • Ensure that best practices are followed in accordance with company policy and state requirements
Physical Requirements:
  • Mobility - Twist, Bend, Stoop/squat, Move quickly (respond to emergency), Climb stairs, Walk, Stand
  • Hearing - Hear normal speaking level sounds (person-to-person), Hear faint body sounds (blood pressures, lung sounds, heart sounds, placement of tubes), Hear in situations when not able to see mouth (when masks are being used), Hear alarms (monitors, fire alarms, code alarms)
  • Visual - See information up to 24 inches away (monitors, computer screens, skin conditions), See objects up to 20 feet away (patient in room), Use depth perception, Use of peripheral vision, Distinguish color and color intensity (flushed, as colored, or pale skin, color of labels)
  • Endurance - Walk long distances (transfer patient, etc.), Stand (at patient's side during surgery or therapeutic procedure, etc.), Sustain repetitive movement (CPR compressions, bagging, etc.), Maintain physical tolerance (stand/walk/work on your feet for 8-12 hours at a time with minimal breaks)
  • Strength - Push and pull 15-20 pounds (position patient, move equipment,. ambulate patient, etc.) with assistance, Lift 15-20 pounds (transfer a patient, etc.) with assistance, carry equipment/supplies, Use upper body strength (CPR, physically restrain patient, etc.), Squeeze with hands (operate fire extinguisher)
  • Other - Reach above shoulders/overhead, Reach below the waist (electrical plugs, etc.), Reach in front (assist patient with arms out), Pick up objects with hands, Grasp small objects with hands (IV tubing, pencils, electrode patches, etc.), Write with pen, Use computer (type), Pinch/pick or otherwise work with fingers (use syringe, etc.), Twist at waist, Twist wrists/hands (turn objects/knobs using hands), Squeeze with fingers (eye droppers, bulb syringes, ear bulb, etc.)
